Climate Adaptation Partnership at the European Urban Resilience Forum 2019

The Climate Adaptation Partnership of the Urban Agenda for the EU opened the plenary session at the European Urban Resilience Forum 2019 in Bonn.

Stefania Manca from the city of Genova - the Partnership's coordinating city - spoke in the opening plenary. In her intervention, she updated the audience on the first implementation steps of the Action Plan, emphasizing that in order to enhance cities capacity to tackle climate related effects, we should remember that “cities are made by people, not buildings, but people." The Climate Adaptation Partnership has recognised this, and has developed strong relationships between the different cities involved in the Partnership, as well as with the wider Urban Agenda Family.  Her intervention also included an appeal to the audience to join the Partnership's efforts in "climate-proofing" and developing resilient urban areas.
