EU Green Week: Agreement for the experimentation of a toolkit for PAYT application in South Tuscany
This morning in Brussels, during the EU Green Week, an agreement for the first experimentation of the Action "Developing a Toolkit for PAYT application" was signed.
The agreement was signed by Håkon Jentoft, who is responsible for the Urban Agenda Partnership for the Circular Economy, Leonardo Masi, President of Sei Toscana, - the company that manages waste services in the whole of South Tuscany - Luca Moretti and Gianni Barzaghi from Operate, the working group that supports the Partnership in developing the Toolkit.
The agreement sets out the experimentation of the Tookit in the South Tuscany Area, with regards to the implementation of a PAYT scheme based on technical and metodological elements of the proposal.
Leonardo Masi thanked the Partnership and declared that this opportunity could be very important in implementing a more democratic and equal waste management system, which can also lead to improvements in the quality of our Environment.
Håkon Jentoft appreciated the effort of the Action leader Gianluca Tapparini and the Operate working group. He welcomed this first experimentation of one of the 12 Actions developed by the Partnership, highlighing the importance of their work, and how the Action Plan could represent a practical instrument for developing the circular economy.
