Public green spaces are crucial for climate resilience, yet regions and cities face major barriers in developing investable projects. Experts will explain how to overcome these challenges, highlight the role of public investment banks and offer practical roadmaps for bankable nature-based solutions. Participants will engage in discussions to exchange best practices and build networks for scaling up public green infrastructure and services across Europe.

How can cities determine how much green infrastructure is enough and where it’s needed most? And how can they meet the ambitious targets of the EU Nature Restoration Law? This interactive workshop organised by the Grening Cities Partnership, with the support of Ministry of Development Public Works and Administration, TECNALIA, ICLEI European Secretariat and the European Urban Initiative, introduces a new methodology developed by the Urban Agenda for the EU Partnership on Greening Cities, under the ESPON-GILL project, to help cities quantify local demand for green infrastructure.
Participants will explore insights from European case studies and test practical tools that support data-informed urban nature plans, funding proposals and local climate action.
